I waited a long time to try this particular Cerebelly pouch. A similar recipe by a different organic baby food company that has no fallen out of grace due to poor quality control, poor transparency, and the presence of high levels of it heavy metals in their food was my go to for years, and, although I am accustomed to the taste of the nutrient blend that comes through in all of the Cerebelly pouches, I was afraid this particular flavor could not possibly compete with the one I loved for so long by the other company. I’m happy to report that I was wrong about that. This pouch is delicious. I don’t really taste the nutrient blend in the way I doing most of their recipes, so much so that I checked the ingredients on the pouch that I got to see if maybe they had removed the nutrient learned from this flavor. Thankfully, they had not. That said, it’s not as nutrient, dense as most of their packets that are not purely based on sweet fruits and carrots. But it is a great easy on the go snack that I find to be delicious. The only reason I am giving four instead of five stars is that this is the first time I received one of their pouches in the new material that they are using. It is Plastic and it is not opaque. I think there’s probably a lot less waste with the new packaging, which is great, but there was a taste of plastic noticeable in the food. I know they are clean project certified, but still, I think, in terms of health and safety they probably took a step backward, when they changed their packaging from what I have received from them over the past few years, which is more like a combination of some sort of stiffer, material and plastic. Still, the taste of plastic is minimal, like you would get for example, in an HDPE gallonS of water, and Cerebelly is still one of the most trustworthy brands available. I highly recommend giving this flavor a try. It will become a staple for me.
